Volkswagen is launching the first of its new range of electric vehicles, the Volkswagen ID.3, destined to be the first step towards a complete change. But for the Spanish consumer, there are still a few barriers for the electric car which prevent it from being considered a real option, such as price, autonomy or lack of charging points.

Data is the answer

We found the solution inside Twitter’s conversation. Starting from real tweets, we monitored the conversation about the #ElectricCar (#CocheEléctrico) and found the insights we were looking for. From the data we learned what people thoughts are regarding the electric car: expensive, ugly, boring and lack of autonomy. On the other hand, ID.3’s associated keywords were pretty different.

Make it fun and shareable

Then we created a series of data-driven videos to dive into the conversation. Mixing the data with some memes and real tweets, we touched on all the key points of negative opinions or user doubts, to prepare the ground for highlighting the features of the new ID.3: A car that is fun to drive, with great autonomy and a very reasonable price.
